January and February

I know it's been awhile since I've posted anything, but in my defense, the last few months have been pretty hectic and after you see what I've been up to, you might agree. So, without further ado, here's what I've been up to.

January

Okay, so this month was a lot of music shows and art exhibits.

I got to go and see my favorite kpop group F(x)'s first solo concert which was SO. MUCH. FUN. And unlike the other kpop concerts I've been to, you were actually allowed to dance at this one which (trust me) is a rarity. It was near the Olympic Park as well.

Next comes some artsy photos from a modern art museum in Seoul

The best exhibit was this very strange, very interesting exhibit done by a South African artist on oppression in general but specifically Apartheid. It was trippy. It was uncomfortable. It was awesome.

I guess that's it for Jan?

February

February was another month filled with art exhibits but this time minus the music shows and adding lots of pictures of my students.

Here are some pics from Seollal or 설날 which is the Korean New Year. I almost got a good pic of my class too, so I'm counting it as a win.

Next, some pictures of dranks with frans.

This one is feat. Ron Weasley because when at a Brit Pub and you order the Ginger Beer....

Then here's a pic of my walk through the city.

Here's the Jimjillbang or Korean Sauna that my friends and I went to.

Here's Iron Man in case you need your pizza RIGHT EFFING NOW. Idk.

This pretty much sums up how teaching this class felt like every day all the time. Drowning in a sea of Korean children.

Then there was kindy graduation which was an...emotional time for a lot of the kids who (even after constant reassurance all year) were convinced this was the last time they would ever see me.

My school

Then, some friends and I accidentally went to this exhibit on color that was like, okay when we were really trying to go to a neon light exhibit. Oops. So we went through this exhibit and then we went to the neon one at a different museum in the city because we are #artsy and #cultured.

Once we trekked across the city after negotiating with no less than 5 taxi drivers and then walking for what felt like an eternity, we finally made it to the infinitely better light exhibit.

These were actually giant spikes coming out of the wall that were illuminated different colors.

THIS ROOM WAS SO FUN. There were three rooms and each one was illuminated a different color and everyone was unabashedly taking selfies and it was so great. The only downside (or upside?) was that you had to wear those stupid looking booties as to not damage the white floor.

Another room changed your shadow so that it was primary colors. I'm forever going to be disappointed that my regular shadow is just plain old black and not a fun mix of blue, yellow, and red.

This room was a bunch of pages that were lit up as to capture a fleeting moment #deep

This room was all about not going into the light and it was the equivalent of being in a sci-fi teleporter irl.

Even the outside of the museum was cool.

And then there was a few nights out where this was my view on the walk home. Not too shabby.

Whew, idk about you but that was tiring. Did you enjoy yourself? It's the end of this post, but my next one will be even more awesome because I went to Japan for the weekend.
