Hong Kong Part II DISNEYLAND 

HERE COMES THE MOST IMPORTANT PART OF THE TRIP, DISNEY LAND. 

The second day in Hong Kong we decided to go out to Disneyland!!! The price was $500 Hong Kong but that means it was only $64 American so it was actually pretty cheap. Granted, there is only one park and by the US standards, it was pretty small but it was so much fun. It was my first time at Disney without my fam (shout out to them for being down to ride It's a Small World as many times as I make them ***not shout out to my Dad though because he sings It's a Small World and this ride sucks  which is RUDE. ) I've literally never been hotter or felt more humidity in my entire life since the land around the park is technically jungle, but I only got moderately sunburnt so I think it was a good day. And yes, I did the touristy thing and bought the Minnie Mouse ears. Fight me. 







This is called Mystic Manor and Maddie would've died. Think Haunted Mansion (game and movie) meets that one really shitty Posiedon ride in Universal with an ornery monkey and a magical box and you'll understand the ride.





 The Jungle Cruise aka the scariest non-scary ride in existence aka not worth the hype aka the ride where the very clearly natively Chinese guide tried her best to do all of her jokes in English but it just wasn't happening for us or her.

I honestly teared up as I was leaving, this ride has been my favorite ride for as long as I remember and I remember coming to the one in America when I was little and just being amazed at all of these different cultures and outfits and the lights and just thinking about how cool it was that we lived in a world with all of these things in it. The fact that I'd always dreamed of seeing these things for myself seemed so far off then, but here I was, sitting in this ride telling me how small the world really was on the other side of the world and I was just incredibly happy. 


Here's how far I was from my new home of Seoul.

So after we rode everything we wanted to ride like Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear, the one rollercoaster, etc. we went home.

Some pictures of my school/kids!  I know a few of you (my mom) have been dying to see my school (my mom) and my kids (mostly my mom). So, thanks to my Korean helper teacher, here's a few of them!  This is me in my classroom.  The theme of June was things that live in the ocean, so the school brought in some fish that I had to then present to the kids, haha  Same. So many festivals, so little time I've been keeping pretty busy in the past month with going to lots of festivals all over Korea, so here are some pics from my adventures.  First up was the coffee festival which was a bit misleading because there was very little coffee and lots of bakery items and cafe music so it was more of a cafe festival, but anyway... We had to wake up at 5 am to go into Seoul to catch our bus to the festival. The bus ride roundtrip only cost about the equivalent of $5 so thanks Korean government. The festival itself was on the east coast of Korea, so it took about 3 hours to get there and 5 hours to get back. We didn't end up getting home until about 10:30, but it was a really fun day.  Here's Seoul at 5 am. A Starbucks in a traditional style Korean building. A....bear? made entirely out of coffee. Some things I would like in care packages  A lot of people have been asking me what I would want in a care package so I decided to make a list here. **Just a reminder that I will not be posting my address on here. If you would like my address, please contact either me or my parents.  Also, I know a lot of you are planning on sending care packages right away (which I really really appreciate!) but if some of you want to wait for a month or two, that would be great too. I'm enjoying myself so much right now because everything is new and different and fun but everyone who has lived here longer than I have tells me that the homesickness starts kicking in the second or third month here.
