Hong Kong Part III

The next day we woke up sore and a little sunburnt, but the museums in Hong Kong were free so we got a chance to go to the Hong Kong History Museum and the Hong Kong Science Museum.

Both were so well organized and interesting!! The history museum started all the way before the city was developed (when it was still a jungle) and went all the way up to modern times and all of the history was walk through which meant that if you were learning about certain types of towns or jungles or dynasties, then they have a replica of what that would have looked like that you could walk though. (This was especially cool for the time period when the British took over HK and when the Japanese invaded for a few years.) I had no idea HK's history was so interesting! My history-loving nerd family would have loved it.

They had a replica of a Chinese Opera House you could walk through. I'm not saying Phantom of the Opera wasn't scary, but I am saying it would've been infinitely scarier had it been set in a Chinese Opera house instead. Can you imagine this in a dark alley, coming at you??

I wanted to take a picture of the town, but we all know who the real star of this photo is.

The prettiest building in the whole town. Read the plaque; it was the brothel. Haha, oops.

Replica of slum when the Japanese were in charge and were being complete a-holes.

Science museum! We only got to spend an hour there though because it closed early (sorry mom).

Found a mall with giant, terrifying, life-sized replicas of Where's Waldo.

This is the view from their race tracks!

My friend and I tried to go down the racetracks because they have a giant, free party every week. Well, no one told us that the season ended about a month before so after a 20 minute walk, we showed up to people jogging. The actual track was really pretty though.

So we decided to hop on the subway and go to the waterline and see the Avenue of Stars (China's Walk of Fame).

#me

Saw the clock tower. Not sure why's it's on everyone's "Must check out in HK lists" bc it was pretty mediocre, but we saw it.

Pretty racistly we only knew three actors on the whole walk: Jet Li, Jackie Chan, and Bruce Lee (who had a super creppy statue).

V creepy.
